FRCV Working in and Around Liquid Bodies Checklist
by Samantha Fellows, from the Community
This Fatal Risk Control Verification checklist helps mining teams manage drowning risk when working in or near liquid bodies such as pit sumps, dams, tanks, thickeners and water systems. It guides verification of flotation devices, mandates level 100 personal flotation devices for work on or near water, and requires a spotter when boats are used. The checklist covers crew risk assessments, condition and age of buoyancy vests, and integrity and maintenance of vessels including leaks, fuel lines and equipment. It also verifies barriers, bunding and edge protection for platforms and floating equipment, and captures sign off and comments.
