This warranty evaluation checklist helps teams systematically assess hydraulic cylinders returned under RGA. Capture customer and unit identifiers, serial and part numbers, and RGA dates. Perform initial external evaluation to confirm failure modes such as bypassing, weld or seal leaks, mis-staging, paint or chrome damage, and note oil sampling results. If required, disassemble for internal inspection of barrels, rods, sleeves, pistons, glands, and seals. Record measurements and conditions, then recommend actions including hone or skive, polish, replate, replace components, reseal, test, and paint. Determine warranty status and follow required approvals, quoting, and customer service notifications before repairs or credits.
