Use this ATEX inspection checklist to assess hazardous area equipment for ATEX compliance across Zones 0-2 and 20-22. Record equipment details, manufacturer, serial and tag numbers, Ex protection and certification, IP rating, and inspection grade. Verify correct area classification, labeling, temperature class, group, and protection type. Check cable integrity, sealing, earthing and bonding, energy-limiting devices, breathing and draining devices, and enclosure gaskets. Confirm separation of intrinsically safe and non-IS circuits, electrical connections, fault loop impedance or earth resistance, insulation resistance, and proper termination of unused cables. Include photos, isolation certificate references, and sign-offs for completion and repairs to close out nonconformities.
