Kitchen Hood System Acceptance Test Checklist
by Randall Wright, from the Community
This kitchen hood system acceptance test checklist helps fire inspectors and facility managers verify commercial kitchen fire suppression systems in restaurants and food service sites. It covers visual checks for appliance placement, casters and restraints, quick-connect gas fittings, fryer separation, hood and duct sizing, nozzle type, height and aim, fusible link temperature and placement, manual pull station location, and Type K extinguisher placement and signage. It also documents operational tests for manual and automatic activation, make-up air shutdown, exhaust fan behavior, gas and electrical shutdowns, and alarm/monitoring. Includes status tracking, completion dates, comments, and acknowledgement for code compliance.
