Use this pre-event checklist to prepare and run safer outdoor events. It guides event teams through essential checks across site access and exits, signage and stewarding, disabled access and parking, emergency vehicle routes, and pedestrian segregation. Assess site condition, tripping hazards, weather impacts, fixtures and fencing. Verify structures are completed, inspected and signed off, insurance and health and safety documentation are in place, and food concessions meet food hygiene requirements. Confirm event provisions including fire-fighting equipment, lighting, electrical supplies, first aid, security, control centre, public address and radio communications, backstage setup, and waste management.
