Walkways and Accessibility Inspection Checklist
by Matthew Smith, from the Community
This checklist helps facility teams in inpatient and clinical settings assess the safety and accessibility of internal walkways, corridors, stairwells, and disabled ramps. Verify floors are clean and free of slip and trip hazards, wet floor signage is in place, and carpets or hard surfaces are in good condition. Confirm stair nosings, railings, and lighting are adequate, and automatic doors function correctly. Ensure ramps and entryways remain unobstructed, level, and free of surface water to support safe access and egress.
