This PEEPS Audit checklist supports care homes and health services in reviewing Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans each month. It helps confirm that every resident has a current PEEP with accurate identifiers (name and room), building location and closest exit/staircase, required assistance and the designated staff to help, and any techniques or equipment suited to individual needs. It also prompts inclusion of a step‑by‑step evacuation plan from alarm to exit, and highlights additional hazards such as flammable ointments, reduced mobility, or sedative medications. Use it to document findings, update plans following any changes to residents, staff, hazards, or the building, and bring actions to the next QA meeting.
