Annual Care Facility Fire Inspection Checklist
by Sean Porter, from the Community
This annual fire safety inspection checklist helps care occupancies, care and treatment facilities, and retirement homes meet Ontario Regulation 364/13 and Fire Marshal’s Directive 2014-002. It covers exterior access and hydrants, fire safety plans, staffing and drills, records management, alarms and voice communication, sprinklers and standpipes, emergency lighting and exits, kitchens, corridors and doors, oxygen and compressed gas, hazard controls, and high building requirements. Appendices outline maintenance and testing for emergency systems and retrofit compliance for health care and retirement home occupancies.
