Use this SMIR checklist to standardize substation maintenance and inspection. Capture site details, contractor info, work order and times, ambient conditions, and control house status. Inspect transformers, station service, PT/CT metering, reactors, capacitor circuits, circuit breakers, switches and disconnects, bus work, and HV wiring. Record SF6 pressures, counter readings, oil levels, operating temperatures, and alarms. Verify battery bank condition, safety equipment, and yard security, fencing, and grounds. Take photos, log defects, and document corrective actions and notes.
