This monthly substation inspection checklist guides technicians through a comprehensive assessment of the Melancthon site. It covers pre entry safety and PPE, control room checks, and verification of battery backup voltages and amperage. Inspect relays, breakers, switches, annunciator panels and reset alarms as needed. In the yard, review HV bus components, PT and CT oil levels, capacitor banks, and transformer conditions including temperatures, oil levels, leaks, fans and desiccant breathers. Inspect switchyard conductors, insulators, lightning arrestors and record findings in the substation log.
