This DN-17a procedure details how to carry out a safe single squeeze-off on PE gas mains for network isolation. It covers required documentation, tools and equipment, pipe identification and SDR checks, setting out squeeze points, establishing network pressure, assembling and pressure-testing a bypass and vent system, commissioning the bypass, and preparing and applying downstream and upstream squeeze-offs. Steps include cutting out and replacing the PE main using approved equipment and electrofusion, purging to achieve 90 percent gas-in-air readings, leak testing, and re-commissioning. Limits: LP up to and including 180mm mains and MP up to and including 63mm mains.
