This DN-08d checklist guides field teams through safely disconnecting a polyethylene (PE) service from a PE main. Steps include confirming customer isolation at the ECV, exposing the PE tapping, cutter setup and verification with approved leak detection fluid, and controlled cutting with a damp cloth barrier. It covers capping both ends using electrofusion caps, testing all caps and fittings, washing off leak detector residue, and removing or capping and labeling any standpipe. The process also seals abandoned pipe ends and confirms that all supplies remain isolated before final assessor sign-off.
