Critical Control Inspection - Hazardous Liquids Over 1000L
by Thomas Harrison, from the Community
Use this field inspection checklist to verify critical controls for hazardous liquids stored above 1000L. Confirm tanks are sited away from sensitive areas, protected by asset barriers, and supported by compliant secondary containment (bunds or double-walled tanks) with sufficient capacity. Check that emergency spill plans are in place and communicated, spill kits are available, and underground tanks have double walls, leak detection, and groundwater monitoring wells with testing programs. Ensure operators are licensed with third-party VOC for trailer combinations and liquid transport. Record overall control effectiveness.
