This UTS checklist supports regular visual inspections of university laboratories, workshops, and chemical stores. It guides reviewers through work environment and access, storage, and lighting, emergency preparation and first aid, and hazard awareness. It covers electrical safety, manual handling, chemical inventory and labelling, chemical use and emergency response, fume cupboards and laminar flow cabinets, chemical storage and flammable liquid cabinets, hazardous waste, gas cylinders and cryogens, biological safety, communicable diseases, animal handling, ionising and non‑ionising radiation, and plant and equipment. Intended for six‑monthly inspections to ensure safe, compliant spaces.
