by colin patel, from the Community
This City and Guilds 5357 NVQ Level 3 Unit 118 resource supports learners in terminating and connecting conductors and cables to industry standards. It covers preparing for work, selecting tools and PPE, safe isolation, risk assessment, method statements, and permits to work. Learners evidence competence across cable types such as single core, multicore, MICC, fire resistant, PVC SWA, and data cable, and across equipment including switches, socket outlets, consumer units, luminaires, motors, and control panels. Assessment requires multiple jobs with witness verification, inspection and testing for electrical and mechanical soundness to BS 7671, correct identification and labeling, and completion of candidate records, supplementary evidence, and assessor feedback. Embedded behaviours and expert witness sign off are included.
