This safety harness and lanyard inspection checklist helps competent persons assess fall protection equipment before use. Record harness and lanyard details including manufacturer, model, serial and lot numbers, dates of manufacture and first service, and type and length. Verify CE marking and EN 354 compliance. Inspect hardware such as D-rings, buckles, and karabiners for corrosion, cracks, distortion, sharp edges, and free movement. Review all webbing and stitching for frays, cuts, burns, chemical damage, pulled or missing threads, discoloration, hardness, and fall indicator deployment. Confirm labels are present, legible, and secure. Document overall disposition, approve or remove items from service, note inspector name and inspection date, and set the next inspection due date.
