Use this post rental inspection template to assess returned heavy equipment and record client, contract and machine details. Inspect external condition, decals, lights and beacons; check extinguishers and leaks; review boom, stick, bucket, blade and G.E.T wear. Verify in cab items including seat belts, gauges, mirrors, radio/UHF, manuals and the pre-start book. Log SMU hours, fuel level, service stickers and next PM due. Capture required photos from all angles, serial plate and hour meter, plus tyre positions. Note damages, repairs and whether a damage report is raised, then sign off.
