Weekly Construction Health and Safety Checklist
by Allan Harridine, from the Community
Use this weekly construction health and safety checklist to inspect housekeeping and welfare facilities, verify PPE use, confirm first aid supplies and eyewash, and review fire prevention measures. Check scaffolding tags, guardrails, and tower erection by competent persons; assess hand and power tools, PAT testing, and extension leads. Record inspections of site plant and temporary lighting, review materials storage and labeling of flammable gases and liquids, and evaluate traffic management and pedestrian segregation. Inspect excavations for shoring, battering, access and egress, fenced barriers, and stop blocks. Verify controls for working at heights and fragile surfaces to keep sites safe and compliant.
