K and C Gyproc Partitions Installation Checklist
by Steve Hickey, from the Community
This practical checklist supports the installation and inspection of Gyproc partition walls. It guides site readiness and sample room approval, confirms services are complete above the ceiling and adequate lighting is in place, and calls out extra fixings for radiators and other heavy wall items. Inspectors are prompted to identify side 1, verify wall alignment and plumb, confirm fixings to the structure, and check vertical stud spacing. Door opening dimensions, stability of the partition, and consistent stud orientation are reviewed. The checklist also covers solid timber surrounds to door openings, neat fitting and support of cut boards, and ensuring services on side 1 do not interfere with side 2. Electrical back boxes should be fixed to plywood pattresses. Finally, assess the sequence and quality of AMES taping, evaluate the finish on both sides, and verify the area is left clean and tidy.
