Job Site Orientation for Subcontractors
by Laurel Woodhouse, from the Community
This job site orientation template helps contractors and site leads ensure subcontractors meet health and safety requirements before starting work. It covers orientation to the H and S policy and program, roles and responsibilities, pre qualification, third party safety inspections, PPE, maintenance, alcohol and drug policies, smoking rules, accident and incident reporting, employer compliance, emergency response, site access and egress control, and required training and certifications such as WHMIS. The checklist also captures site details, dates, and signatures from the subcontracted supervisor, site supervisor, and H and S manager. Use it to standardize onboarding, verify compliance, and document readiness for safe work on construction sites.
