Bricklaying Above MSA Quality Assurance Checklist
by Sebastian Szabo, from the Community
This quality assurance checklist helps contractors verify brickwork above the masonry support angle up to the fire barrier level. It covers tolerances for pistol brick overhang, alignment of first courses, open perpends, plumb and level checks, and tying brickwork back to the substrate with the first tie no higher than 300 mm. It includes checks for bringing work up to DPC, correct DPC installation, correct fire barrier installation with required compression and brackets, and forming and fixing cavity trays. Capture comments and signatures for accountability.
