Use this boom maintenance and safety checklist to standardize daily or scheduled inspections of boom lifts and MEWPs. Review engine oil and filters, air and fuel filters, batteries and terminals, hydraulic fluid, filters, hoses, pressure, cylinders, and drive components. Check brakes, tyres, wheel nuts and bearings, wear pads, bushings, rollers, and general nuts and bolts. Verify basket condition, decals and operation sheets, ID stickers, and approval plates. Test all operations including lift, steering, boom extension and retraction, rotation, low/high drive, tilt switches, and safety devices like emergency lowering valves, gate lock, and harnesses. Capture comments, note items needing repair, and record fitter and site representative sign-off to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
