Use this ALGC Excavation Competent Person daily inspection checklist to document trench and excavation safety conditions on site. Verify utilities are marked and Georgia 811 One Call tickets are current, check work within the tolerance zone, and classify soil. Confirm cave-in protection via sloping, trench boxes, or shoring; ensure safe access and egress with ladders within 25 feet. Inspect for spoil pile setbacks, accumulated water, nearby equipment and overhead power lines, adjacent construction activities, traffic, and potential confined space conditions. Record location details, responsible personnel, and other hazards to maintain compliance and worker safety.
