RMS H6 Hazardous Substances and Dangerous Goods Checklist
by Steve Clark, from the Community
This RMS H6 surveillance checklist helps teams manage hazardous substances and dangerous goods on construction and infrastructure sites. It covers identification and registers, availability of SDS, documented risk assessments, communication of risks, and safe systems of work. It includes procedures for monitoring controls, introducing new substances, and purchasing the least hazardous alternatives. Training requirements, correct storage and labelling, health surveillance, emergency preparedness, airborne monitoring, placarding and manifest thresholds, and regulator notifications are addressed. It also prompts for spill kits, emergency drills, correct disposal, and records for compliance and follow‑up actions.
