Health, Safety and Environmental Site Inspection
by Urban Forestry, from the Community
Use this comprehensive checklist to record health, safety, and environmental controls on arboriculture and horticulture job sites. Verify site-specific risk assessments, emergency plans, working at height justifications, COVID-19 and infectious disease measures, and manual handling practices. Check site organization, PPE, traffic management, chipper setup, climbing techniques, aerial rescue provision, first aid readiness, and effective communication. Review tools and equipment compliance (chainsaws, chippers, grinders), climbing and rigging kits, vehicle condition and load security, and safe MEWP use. Address environmental considerations, including wildlife risk assessments, fuel and oil storage, spill kits, environmental emergency plans, and biosecurity. Confirm staff certifications and driver licensing, then capture general comments and sign-off.
