This maritime safety inspection checklist helps crews and supervisors audit vessel and barge operations. Review regulatory documents and postings, VGP inspections, open maintenance items, JSAs and permits, and visitor logs. Inspect housekeeping across staterooms and galley, confirm spill control and proper storage, and check safety equipment including fire extinguishers, life rings, detectors, PPE, LOTO, GFCIs, first aid, rescue boat, alarm, gas detector, VHF, navigation lights, and spill kit. Assess tools and equipment such as rigging, ladders, hatch covers, welding gear, gangways, winches, engines, fuel hoses, and compressors. Document findings and address non-conformities to maintain maritime compliance and crew safety.
