Maintenance Shop and Repair Area Monthly Inspection
by Bob Jordan, from the Community
This monthly self-inspection checklist helps maintenance shops and repair areas verify safety and readiness across critical categories. Inspect hand and shop power tools, jacks, air compressors, welders, torch sets, and fuel gas storage. Review electrical panels, cords, lighting, and GFCI. Check housekeeping for general areas, break room, locker room, and bathrooms, including appliances and HVAC. Confirm first aid kits, bloodborne pathogen supplies, eye wash and shower, and fire extinguishers with current inspections and signage. Assess structural elements such as floors, roof, walls, doors, siding, support beams, and stairs including railings, toe boards, risers, and treads. Capture comments and corrective actions for any at-risk findings.
