GWRL Station Signage Condition Assessment
by Richard Noakes, from the Community
Conduct annual assessments of rail station signage across the network with this GWRL checklist. Inspect poster panels and wayfinding, totems, platform and building mounted signs, subway and service resource signs, CCTV and smokefree notices. Record location, condition rating, and photo evidence. Identify issues such as UV fade, graffiti, peeling film, corrosion, broken fixings, missing screws, bent or missing signs, foundation damage, and cleaning needs. Standardize audits across stations, capture defects consistently, and prioritize corrective actions and maintenance planning.
