This maritime internal audit checklist helps vessel operators verify compliance with key safety and security standards across the ship. It covers ship and crew certification, official logbooks, statutory drills, and Master’s ISM/ISPS reviews. Inspect SOPEP/SMPEP readiness, hours of rest, garbage record keeping, deck logbook, stability calculations, platform installation cards, and OVID/CMID status. Review document control, emergency plans, permits to work, planned maintenance, compass deviation, water tank hygiene, lifting plans, cargo paperwork, and oil spill kits. Navigation checks include passage plans, chart corrections, radar logs, and emergency steering. Safety management spans risk assessments, toolbox talks, COSHH, hazardous chemical logs, drill debriefs, and UA/UC reporting. GMDSS, EPIRB, SART, radio licenses, and maintenance agreements are included. Engineering, accommodation, treatment areas, and galley hygiene are also inspected to ensure comprehensive vessel safety and compliance.
