This Shire Mapping checklist supports telecom tower site surveys and mapping. It guides teams through pre-start risk assessment and RAMS review, working at height, MEWP, traffic and excavation hazards, PPE, and weather. Capture site access, signage, and ground-level photos. Document foundation connections, holding-down plate dimensions, bolt sizes and counts, gaps and centers. Record tower details such as leg type and size, CHS dimensions, splice type and plate size, brace sizes and bolts, and top-of-tower height. Log equipment types, operators, bearings, feeder locations, and OLO presence (e.g., MBNL, Vodafone, TEF, Airwave). Include photos of feeders, equipment, cabins, structures, and provide cabin, base, and headframe sketches to complete the survey.
