This retail shop closedown checklist helps store teams complete end-of-day tasks and shut down correctly. It covers general housekeeping such as archiving paperwork, clearing and cleaning the cash desk and countertops, dating and storing pick and mix items, cleaning and disconnecting slush machines, and fronting the unit. Back-of-house tasks include pulling forward and tidying stockrooms, cleaning offices and removing notices, emptying and cleaning chillers, defrosting and switching off freezers, and ensuring floors and the rear of the unit are clean and free of rubbish. Profit protection steps include emptying the safe, returning floats to the cash office, processing damages, returning authorized products to the distribution center with paperwork, moving short-dated items to relevant units with transfers completed, and removing all edible products from the sales floor.
