Operations Walk Checklist for Grocery Stores

This Operations Walk checklist supports grocery retail teams in auditing daily store operations. It covers front of house and back of house areas including entrances, carts, trash and first impressions; produce, meat, dairy and bakery presentation, quality, dating, variety and cleanliness; grocery out of stocks, displays, milk and eggs, pricing and signage; package meat rotation and dates, lighting and floors; customer service standards such as uniforms, engagement, staffing levels, lines and check lanes, merchandising and cleanliness; IT systems including registers, intercom and store devices; loss prevention and shrink reporting; and health and safety controls across production areas, hygiene supplies, chemical storage, pest issues and refrigeration status. Use this template to drive consistent store walks and follow ups.
