Cooling Tower Water Treatment Inspection Checklist
by Jem Bradbrook, from the Community
This checklist supports quality-of-service inspections for cooling tower water treatment. It covers site and asset identification, last service and routine maintenance records, and verification that preventive and routine maintenance entries are logged. Inspectors confirm the Risk Management Plan (RMP), cleaning certificates, dosing equipment manuals, and on-site service log books. Items include consistency of logs with PM programs, defects recorded and escalated, clear plant history, correct auto/manual and lead/lag settings, and proper tagging for out-of-service equipment. It also checks Maximo updates for equipment changes, adequacy and condition of dosing lines, electrical test and tag status, chemical stock levels, availability of MSDS, control of water losses, housekeeping in plant rooms, and clear drains. Guidance for issue escalation and inspector sign-off is included.
