Monthly PPM Inspection for General Lighting Fittings
by Brendan Mulholland, from the Community
This monthly planned preventive maintenance checklist helps facility and maintenance teams inspect general lighting fittings in line with SFG20 36-03 and BS7671 18th Edition guidance. Tasks include checking for failed lamps and signs of deterioration, cleaning and replacing failed or suspect lamps, confirming the security of fixings and suspensions, inspecting for arcing or overheating, and verifying that outside lights, photocells, and timers operate correctly. The form captures basic site information, general comments, and auditor sign off to ensure a consistent, compliant maintenance record across sites.
