Housekeeping Checklist for Workplace Safety
by Trevor McMartin, from the Community
This housekeeping checklist helps teams improve workplace safety and compliance by addressing common hazards and good housekeeping practices. It covers keeping floors and walking surfaces free of tripping hazards like tools, cords, hoses, materials, and liquids; proper disposal of combustible waste in noncombustible containers with tight, spill proof lids; safe storage of packing materials; removal of protruding nails, brads, and staples; keeping aisles and passageways clear; maintaining an 18 inch clearance below fire sprinklers when stacking materials under 15 feet; and using adequate, leakproof trash containers. Aligned with AFI 91 203 guidance.
