Coastal Asset Management Inspection Form (FCRC)
by Scott Anderson, from the Community
This Fraser Coast Regional Council inspection form supports routine assessment of coastal assets including beach access paths and stairs, boardwalks, rock and concrete revetments, boat ramps, pontoons, jetties and fish cleaning tables. Inspectors can rate general condition on a 1 to 5 scale, check handrails and fencing, identify debris and obstructions, and record erosion or scour. Component specific checks cover weathering, displacement, joint cracking, slip resistance, lighting and signage, fixtures, piles and anchoring systems. Cleaning operations, temporary closures and waste removal can be documented, along with photos, drawings and notes. The form captures problems, proposed rectification and estimated costs to help prioritise maintenance and keep public access safe.
