This EVFPD checklist supports short-term rental owners and managers in meeting fire and life safety requirements for the Estes Valley Fire Protection District. It covers address posting, fire apparatus access, water supply, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to UL standards, commercial-grade fire extinguishers, restrictions on solid-fuel appliances, safe placement and securing of gas-fired appliances, evacuation plans and routes, electrical and heating safety, Knox Box access, wildland urban interface vegetation mitigation, and chimney spark arresters. An annual operational permit fee is required and inspections may include reinspection.
