Daily Building Check Sheet for Brand Standards
by Mark Littlewood, from the Community
This daily building check sheet helps leisure and fitness facilities uphold brand standards and operational safety. It guides district or duty managers through front of house and back of house checks, including fire exits and routes, lighting, ceilings and walls, alarms, CCTV, access control, vending, sales booths, and site glass. It covers food and beverage areas, kitchens, and storage, plus nursery and creche hygiene. Detailed room checks include staff rooms, changing rooms, showers, lockers, dispensers, toilets, and accessibility facilities. Operational areas include studios, gym floor, spin and free weights zones, ventilation, wipe stations, and cleaning stores. Plant and technical checks span boiler and BMS panels, pressurisation units, plant rooms, chemical dosing, and poolside standards, including lifeguard equipment and documentation. Spaces for recording cleaning and maintenance actions and manager sign off are included.
