Host Employer WHS Site Assessment Checklist
by Samuel Nutbean, from the Community
This Host Employer WHS Site Assessment checklist supports recruitment and staffing firms in verifying a host employer’s workplace health and safety arrangements for on hire workers. It covers policies on mental health, bullying and harassment, sexual harassment, and drugs and alcohol. The checklist reviews how hazards are identified and controlled, and whether documented safe work procedures exist for induction and training, risk and incident management, chemicals, manual handling, psychosocial risks, violence and aggression, electrical and plant safety, working at heights, lone and remote work, and first aid. It also assesses consultation processes, emergency planning and notification requirements, and includes walkthrough checks of office and building areas such as lighting, signage, access and egress, traffic management, chemical storage, and RCD use. Use it to record responsible contacts and signatures from both host employer and agency representatives.
