Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) Office Observation Checklist
by Norman Manacup, from the Community
This Behavior-Based Safety office observation checklist helps teams conduct quick, consistent safety walk-throughs in office environments. Follow the 15–20 minute process to tour the area, record Yes/No/NA findings, and give positive feedback. Sections cover housekeeping, tools and equipment, ergonomics, and maintenance including electrical and fire safety. Verify exits, emergency action plans, extinguishers, and first aid supplies, and check stairs, corridors, and storage for clearances and lighting. Add observation comments, note new hazards, and complete sign-off, with copies for the supervisor and HR to drive corrective actions.
