This mining workplace examination checklist helps supervisors inspect designated areas for hazards and compliance. Review ground control, stockpiles, berms, ramps, roads, signage, housekeeping, walkways, handrails, stairs and ladders, machine guarding, alarms, fall protection, barricades and flagging. Verify maintenance and electrical safety, including cords, panels, labeling, lockout tagout, and tool condition. Confirm emergency preparedness with first aid, eyewash and showers, fire extinguishers, and posted procedures. Check fuel, oil, flammables, MSDS access, and cylinder storage. Document open JHAs and determine if the area is safe to work.
