PTO for Weather Reporting and Airstrip Monitoring
by Safety Health Risk Gahcho Kue, from the Community
Use this PTO to manage weather reporting and airstrip monitoring at a remote mining site. It guides pre-work fitness and housekeeping checks; establishes duty priorities per site procedures; verifies communications gear including AWOS, radios, phones, and computer; and covers runway and apron inspections for debris, wildlife, CRFI, PAPI, and windsocks. It prompts timely weather observations and specials, lightning monitoring with security, ETA sharing for passenger and medivac flights, passenger and cargo handling with TDG notifications, and recordkeeping in DCL360 and EDMS. Finish with sign-off and emergency contact readiness.
