This pre-strip and mining inspection checklist supports safe, compliant surface mining operations. It covers pre-start discussions, communication of previous shift hazards, and adherence to OCE and geotechnical guidelines. Inspect haul roads and ramps for width, signage, cambers, bunding, delineators, and sheeting. Validate digger relocations and check bench and loading areas for conformance to designs, safe dig face heights, crest line hazards, bunding, high wall condition, lighting, and light vehicle park up areas. Review dump areas for height limits, cracks, drainage, bunding, and JSA controls. For coal mining, confirm geology approvals, surveys, and geoplan understanding. Assess ROM lighting and drainage. Consider weather forecasts, flooding risks, and contingencies for heavy rainfall. Verify go-line signage and lighting, crib hut housekeeping and lighting, and float ramp compliance. Conclude with notes and supervisor sign-off.
