UTL Safe, Repeatable, Reliable & Under Control Audit
by Emma Shaw, from the Community
This UTL audit checklist helps teams assess whether operations are safe, repeatable, reliable, and under control using a PDCA approach. Evaluate planning elements such as QFD alignment to customer needs, QCD KPIs in run charts or SPC, OPE linked to takt time, and step-change targets. Review execution with process maps, VSM, validated cycle times, capacity and resource calculations, SOPs, and health and safety practices. Check visual management, 5S, andon/kanban, MDI, audits, and communication cells. Act through 3C and OCC issue management, CPS tools, leader accreditation, and sustained CI results.
