Point of Work Audit for Employees and Contractors

by Paul Hewitt, from the Community

Downloads: 10+

Use this point of work audit checklist to evaluate employees and contractors before starting tasks. Verify visitor registration, permit to work status, and the location of the POW risk assessment. Check evidence of lockout tagout with padlock numbers, determine whether live testing is involved, and confirm appropriate controls. If required, confirm permits and precautions for working at height, confined spaces, and hot work. Inspect lifting equipment per LOLER, ensure tags are in date, and verify PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear. Confirm documentation is complete, hazards are identified, and controls are effective.
