Emergency Preparedness: Evacuation Drill Checklist
by Carl Beckett, from the Community
This emergency preparedness template supports planning and evaluating workplace evacuation drills. It captures key information such as date, start and end times, and documents whether alarms were sounded and detected in all areas. The checklist verifies if evacuations were completed, employees know fire extinguisher locations, wardens understand their duties, and doors and windows were closed. It also confirms contractors and visitors responded appropriately, that visitors and contractors were accounted for, and that overhead cranes were lowered to the ground where applicable. The form prompts general remarks, notes on evacuation effectiveness, and an overall assessment to help teams identify gaps and improve their emergency response procedures.
