Waste Management and Storage Audit Checklist
by Patrick O'Donnell, from the Community
This internal audit checklist helps evaluate waste management and warehouse storage processes for safety and compliance. It covers the existence and communication of procedures, life‑cycle controls, segregation of materials, contractor accreditation and licensing, and documentation such as waste transfer notes. Storage checks include slips, trips and falls, manual handling training, pedestrian and vehicle segregation, pre‑use equipment checks, fire safety, arson risk, and PPE readiness. Capture photographic evidence, note additional findings, and complete auditor and auditee sign‑off.
