This Africa Quality Grid supports apparel manufacturing gemba and supplier audits across the full production flow. It covers components and accessories warehousing (cleanliness, status ID, FIFO, storage conditions), reference samples, and control plans; cutting (relaxing SOP, shrinkage, marker conformity, piece control, isolation); assembly and lines (workstation organization, SOPs and DPR, critical stations, WIP identification, control methods, defect classification, reaction modes); end of line (critical/major/minor defects, segregation, rework checks, production files, calibrated tools); and AQL inspections (master sample and tech pack availability, controller training, reports, calibration, carton dimensions, and separation of nonconforming goods).

Use this Africa Quality Process Gemba checklist to evaluate supplier quality in apparel manufacturing. Assess composition and accessories storage and identification, verify control plans, and confirm reference samples and calibrated equipment. Review cutting preparation including relaxing, shrinkage reporting, marker setup, and piece verification with clear reaction modes. Check assembly and line organization, availability and application of SOPs, identification of critical workstations, defect classification, and in line control methods. At end of line, ensure isolation of non conforming goods, full rechecks after rework, and presence of required production files and calibrated tools. Validate AQL practices, training, master sample and tech pack availability, inspection reports, tool calibration, non conform product segregation, and carton dimension controls.
