Use this checklist to assess abrasive wheel and grinder safety. Verify work rests are within one eighth inch, tongue guards within one quarter inch, and side guards cover the spindle, nut, flange and most of the wheel. Confirm bench and pedestal grinders are permanently mounted, goggles or face shields are worn, and wheel RPM ratings match the motor. Check for proper wiring, grounding, individual on and off controls, and ring testing of new wheels. Ensure dust collection and splash guards are in place and cleanliness is maintained. Suitable for manufacturing and workshop safety inspections.
