Workshop Strip Quote and Repair Checklist
by Louise Coombes, from the Community
This generator workshop strip, quote and repair checklist helps technicians document diagnostics, parts required, and detailed service activities from inspection through sign-off. Capture customer details, machine type, model and serial numbers, and engine hours. Record findings, photos, and repair requirements, then list parts and labor for accurate quotes. Follow 1000-hour service steps including radiator inspection, coolant and oil checks, air filter service, fuel system draining, battery maintenance, control linkage checks, alarm and shutdown tests, and V-belt adjustments. Log test data such as frequency, phase voltage and current, oil pressure, temperature, and battery voltage. Inspect exhaust, charging system, turbo rotation, hoses and belts, voltage regulator, stator resistance, valve lash, alternator bearing lubrication, and crankcase breather. Conclude with final checks and obtain technician and customer approvals.
